A New Year...A new body?

So much for making a post at least once a week. But I'm back, the holidays were a killer! Christmas Eve was spent with my moms family, and we opened all our presents. I got a Wii!! FINALLY! I've wanted one since the summer when me, Jonathan, my dad and Whitney played at my Aunt Lises house. And when we went out shopping we bought Wii Active. Its soooooo much fun, but sooooooo much work! We started the 30 day challened 4 days ago and I swear today almost killed me! I was going on like 5 hours sleep so I was yawning the entire time, but I did the whole work out thats what counts! I have to lose all this baby weight plus some.

On Christmas Eve my dad called, but I wasn't home and I was sad when I listened to the voicemail knowing I could have talked to him. But he called on New Years Day and I talked to him then! Only for abou 10 minutes but its better than nothing! He was going on a safari today.

Christmas day Ollie decided to start his day 5.30, after going to bed at 1 am, needless to say, we were beat at the end of the day. We spent Christmas morning/lunch with my dad's family, and then Christmas dinner with my moms family again. Boxing day we headed out in the freezing rain to get a new digital box for our new tv and I got the first two volumes of the Glee soundtrack, my new favorite show this season, Ollie loves the music too, we sing and dance to it all the time. We didn't do much New Years Eve, stayed in and watched Canada v USA in the world juniors (canada won in the shoot out!) and went to bed before midnight, the life of new parents! We did have a bottle of cheap chamagne, and it tasted cheap lol, but oh well, its the thought that counts! Jonathan goes back to work on Monday and we have to head out shopping this week too, we are low on water, formula, eggs, cat food, and clothes that fit the baby! Ollie turns 6 months on the 17th and is starting to grow out of some of his 3-6 months clothes (the picture he is wearing 6 months, but he has a pair of 3-6 months pj's that are still big, go figure, and he is still wearing some 0-3 months onesies). I'm looking forward to that, right now I much prefer buying clothes for Ollie than I do for myself! I'm going to post a few pictures from our holidays!

On the News!

I was baking a flourless chocolate cake when my mom called me at 6.20. My dad was on the news! She hadn't been paying much attention as she was wrapping gifts and she heard his name in the background and then all of sudden she heard his voice. She said he looks good (my stepmom saw him on video conference on the weekend) and he wished us all a merry christmas and whitney a happy birthday (she was 17 on the 14th). She called me and I was sad I missed it. It might replay tonight on the 11.30 news but thats really late for me to stay up since I was up a few times last night with the baby. On the ships website thought it says that there is going to be something special on the sailor profiles so I think it might be his greeting that will be posted so I will have to remember to go and take a look. I hope its that because it made me upset that I missed it, I wish they had been told when and where the greetings would be shown so we could have seen.

Nom Nom Nom!

I have a baby who loves prunes! He just gobbled them up this morning with his oat cereal (which I had to add prunes so he would eat it because he doesn't like oat, but I think the barley is making him cranky). Last night Ollie also tried wax beans which he loved too! He seems to like his veggies more than his fruit which is surprising but I'm not going to complain!

Yesterday was spent wrapping presents all day long, but its ALL done so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I'm going to be making cookies this week and then next week I'm going to make a flourless chocolate cake and some baklava to bring to my aunts for christmas eve, I cant wait! I wanna bake!

A Hard Day's work!

Olivier and I played Santa today! We spent the entire day out shopping, from 9 am until around 6.30 pm. We're pooped. But we have every single present bought except for my grandparents, and I think we are getting wine or something like that, the special ones that the liqour stores put out for Christmas. Now I just have to wrap wrap wrap! And mail things out on Wednesday. Jonathan seems to thing that we should be able to stuff things in envelopes but it can't be done! He figures if we do that then it gets sent as an oversized letter...well you can't put his mom's pj's in an envelope but do you think he's listening to me? Nope.

Christmas is coming!

Yesterday Amélie came over and we decorated the tree while Jonathan was at work doing some overtime, we left him the angel so he could put something on it. Ollie didn't want to co-operate too much, he was being Mr. Cranky Pants again. The last two days he's been really cranky, we think either because of gas or because of his teeth. I'm thinking teeth because not long after I gave him some Tylenol last night he calmed down, and he's had some rosy cheeks the last couple of days as well.

When Amélie got here yesterday I handed her Ollie so she could hold him and he burst out crying, a real paniky cry. We were flabberghasted why he did this, he's never cried like that before when someone has held him. And when I tried to show her he could sit, she came on the floor to sit next to us and Ollie had this look on his face, chin quivering, mouth turned down and the 'I'm about to freak out' look so she got back up. Later on we realized that it was her hair! She was wearing it in a pony tail flipped up by a clip so some was sticking up in the back and he didn't like that at all. It was quite funny afterwards and we laughed about, and she took the clip out and was able to hold Olivier and give him bottle before supper time.

And finally a weel after the last time Olivier rolled over from his tummy to his back, he rolled over from his back to his tummy, but I think it was accidental. He was playing with his feet and rolled over, and then got stuck. His legs and lower body were facing down but his arm kept him from fully completing the roll lol.

On a roll!

So Ollie decided that this rolling over thing wasn't a one time event! Today he did it 2 times! Jonathan missed the first time because he was in the bathroom but he caught it the second time, just in time too. I was surprised that he did it again once today let alone twice, I was certain that yesterday was a fluke, but I guess not! I have yet to capture him on film rolling over, he really gives  no notice when he is going to do it. It was a stressful day today, but I guess it like that for many people as the holidays are approaching. My sister Amélie called and wants to come over next weekend when we set up the Christmas tree, she's already bought Oliviers Christmas present, a onesie with hat and bib for team Canada for the Olympics, I'm an Olympic nut and when I saw them I knew that I wanted to get him that, so when my sister asked what to get him of course that's what I told her! We don't need much in ways of toys, we dont have a lot of space for them, plus Ollie isn't too into them anyways. We got him a toy and my mom is getting him the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Jumperoo and my Grandma Cote is getting him the Fisher Price walk n ride for once he starts to walk, which I'm happy she got it for him, that way we don't have to think about it when the time comes. I don't know what to tell people when they ask what to get him, we don't really need all that much, we were lucky enough to get most of the things we needed at our baby shower and as gifts when Ollie was born. The only things we need are clothes over 6 months and money I guess so we can use it for formula, diapers, sippy cups (he'll be starting to use them before we know it and we don't have any!) and things like that and to put it into an account for him as well, but it seems weird asking for that stuff but I guess its really the stuff he needs and thats what people get you at Christmas.

4 months already!

Yesterday was Olivier's 4 month birthday, he spent the day sleeping! He woke up at 5 am and then at 6 was tired again so I took him in bed with me to sleep and didn't wake up until 8.30! Then we ate a little oat cereal and had a little taste of apple puree since it was a special occasion (wasn't particulalry fussed with it) and then fell asleep at 9.30 until 1! Woke up had a bottle played until he was tuckered out again (another 45 minutes) ate a bottle and fell asleep for another hour! Next week are his 4 month shots and we will find out how much he weighs. Last week there was a growth spurt and it seemed like Ollie gained weight over night and grew in length! We are pretty sure he will be about 14.5 lbs.

On the weekend we bought Olivier's first Christmas present, its a fisher price toy that has 4 balls with jungle animals in them and they go inside this tree house type thing and pop out in all different places and go on little turn tables and stuff, its for 6 months and up so in January he should be able to start using it I think, Februrary at the latest.

On Monday we went and did a little trip to my work and I found out my  boss is leaving at the end of the month, which makes me want to find a new job faster for when I go back to work, who knows who they'll hire to replace her plus I want to have my weekends and holidays free so I am looking in the government and also at the local college in the offices or something like that.

We don't have much planned for the rest of the week, we might have a visit from one of Jonathans friends and his wife, they haven't had a chance to come by and see the baby yet so I think they may come on Saturday or Sunday. Then next week hopefully me and Olivier will get to see my friend Stephanie from college and another friend of ours Craig, with his daughter Lilly who was born a little over a month after Ollie was, we haven't had a chance to see each other (none of us) since the babies were born so we are looking forward to this!
