I have to win at some point....right?

This week has been awful. Beyond awful really. It has had its up's, Chantal is in town house hunting, and we went to the Tulip Fest last weekend. But the hits keep on coming this week, literally and figuratively.

Ollie saw the Doctor on Wed. He hasn't been drinking much over the last few weeks and we started getting worried about dehydration. The dr thinks its either because of a lactose intolerance, drinking makes him feel bad and so he doesn't want to drink, or reflux again, drinking makes him feel bad so he doesn't want to drink. So now all dairy had been cut out from his diet for the next 2 weeks and he is on Nutramegin for his formula, we have to go and see a pediatrician at the hospital and we have to go back to dr besner in a month. When we got to the dr's office though Jonathan hit a parked car. Our mirror is broken and there are a couple dents, nothing major, but the mirror is going to cost 500$ to replace.

Yesterday Jonathan took the day off work (today as well) and we went and dropped Olivier off for the morning and when we got there we got a huge lecture because some parents had complained to the co ordinator of the in home day cares that they were closing for 2 months and wanted people to pay (well duh they're going to complain!). Jonathan said we had contacted them to find out some information only and the 5 minute lecture turned into a 30 minute one. Yeah. I wasn't impressed. Today we went to pick him up at lunch and Hassan reminded us our 3 month trial contract was up on June 4 and Jonathan asked if they were going to take us back. I know its going to be a no. I'm positive because he opened his big mouth yesterday and said we had emailed the coordinator. We were told we would discuss is next week. So now we are pretty sure we have to find a new daycare but none that are subsidized have any places right now so the minimum we will be paying per day is 20$ rather than the 7$. And it can go up as high as 45$ a day I saw this afternoon checking online. We don't have that kind of money to pay, its insane!

This week just plain sucks.

Is that scale righ? Are you sure? Wow.

So we just got home from Ollie's 9 month check up! No vaccines this time, just a visit with Dr. Besnair to make sure he's doing well. Before we even went into her office she said she didn't even think the visit was necessary since Olivier didn't want to stay on my lap, so I held his fingers and he walked around the waiting room. She said walking at 9 months was huge. So we were in the room and he again didn't want to stay in my lap...he rarely does anymore, he want to investigate and the Dr's office was a new place to investigate so he went off crawling around her. He is perfect, except for his cold. At 9 months he only weighs 19 lbs 2 oz (between the 10th and 25th percentile) and is 28.5 inches long (perfectly average at 50%). He can start to have homo milk BUT since he doesn't like to take his bottle at daycare, just at home and we're lucky to get 3 in a day, she wants him to stay strictly formula for a little while longer. She's not worried about his weight, she said if he's hungry feed him, if he's not, don't (duh lol) but that he is eating enough food so its nothing to worry about.  He started to eat what we eat this week....Shepherds Pie on Sunday and Monday, Tuesday we had some chicken, and yesterday some spaghetti (which was not a hit. We cut it up small so he could feed himself....he dumped it on himself and played with it while screaming lol oh well maybe next time)

Nom Nom Nom!

I have a baby who loves prunes! He just gobbled them up this morning with his oat cereal (which I had to add prunes so he would eat it because he doesn't like oat, but I think the barley is making him cranky). Last night Ollie also tried wax beans which he loved too! He seems to like his veggies more than his fruit which is surprising but I'm not going to complain!

Yesterday was spent wrapping presents all day long, but its ALL done so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I'm going to be making cookies this week and then next week I'm going to make a flourless chocolate cake and some baklava to bring to my aunts for christmas eve, I cant wait! I wanna bake!

Ewwww what is that!?

Well yesterday Mr. Olivier tasted bananas for the first time. We'll just say he wasn't going bananas for them thats for sure! He tried them at lunch and after the first bite I was sure they would be back in my face, but he swallowed them, with much effort I must add! I tried a few more bites to see if he would start to like them but with each bite I was getting a 'why are you  making me eat this god awful tasting crap!' look. I tried again at supper and it was a no go.

Today we tried the peaches. I have no idea if he likes them or not, he was screaming the entire time! We'll just say that today, up until 12.20 was not Olivier's day. He would want something and as soon as he was given it, a diaper change, food, snuggling, he decided that he no longer wanted said item. It made for a very looooong morning. Finally at noon came the overtired freakout because he had decided earlier in the morning that he no longer wanted to take a nap. After that, we finally had silence, Ollie was down for the count sleeping, I got my shower and a banana bread in the oven, dishes washed....and now I am bored!

Nuts for Butternut!

Olivier had butternut squash tonight for the first time! It was love at first taste! Or close to it anyways. He had a few spoonfuls of his barley cereal and then I swooped in with his first taste of veggies...At first he was like, this isn't my cereal, what is this? and then the second spoonful came and he was hooked! Veggie #1 was a success!
